Anne Rompalo, M.D., Sc.M.


Dr. Rompalo is co-Project Director of the MTC and a Professor of Medicine at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She has an extensive portfolio in the planning and execution of local, national and international training programs including the development and execution of several international programs that facilitated the translation of research in reproductive health from bench to bedside in Cambodia, China, Columbia, Malawi and Uganda. She has been a member of CDC’s Sexually Transmitted Diseases Treatment Guidelines Expert Panel since 1997, has been a consultant for Family Planning International regarding reproductive health initiatives, has served on the CDC/ HRSA Advisory Committee on HIV and STD Prevention and Treatment since 2003, and has served as an invited speaker to the National Appropriations Committee regarding STIs and reproductive health. Her joint appointments at the School of Medicine in Medicine and Obstetrics and Gynecology and at the Bloomberg School of Public Health in Epidemiology and Population, Family and Reproductive Health (PFRH) afford her access to the many experts within the Johns Hopkins Community and others throughout the nation who are respected for their research regarding up-to-date findings in men’s health and their ability to translate such findings readily from bench to bedside. In addition, as co-editor of the next edition of “Gender Medicine” with Dr. Mariann Legato from the Columbia University School of Medicine, she has strong ties with experts in the evolving field of gender medicine.
